What is BergerCon? Well it's my personal attempt to stay in contact with as many of my friends as possible as the years go by. Of course these being my friends the event turns up the geek factor in very short order. Join us for food, board games, a non-stop LAN party, and to just hang out with some of the coolest people you will ever meet.
Well if you're reading this chances are I sent you an invitation directly, so there is that. As always significant others are welcome to attend. I also have a 1 guest policy, each person I invite is allowed to invite a guest as long as they clear them by me. If you were a guest in a previous year you're considered invited this year and can bring your own guest.
We have reached a point where alot of the attendees have children so I figured I should address this. Children are welcome to attend, with parental supervision. We will do our best to tone down the language while there are small ears around. Once its time for the kiddos to go to be, that needs to be somewhere else. We party loud and late. There is nothing like 1 AM rockband to make a child cranky. I appreciate everyones understanding in this.
The last couple years I have noticed a trend of only a few people playing one game for most of the con. This has the result of excluding people who are just not interested in that type of game and making the con overall less fun. I myself am one of the big offenders in this regard. As such the following types of games will probably not be played at BergerCon this year: Survival Crafters and MMOs.
While normally we would go see a December release of a geek or geek adjacent movie in December the pickings are non-existant this year.
We will be buying tickets ahead of time so please let me know in the RSVP form if you would like to come.
Starts in the early afternoon and will continue late into the night. The focus will be suprisingly enough board games. Group video games would also be welcome so if people have consoles or games that are good for groups please contact me. (Looking for Smash Brothers, Mario Cart, Mario Party, etc)
Well now your interested in attending but you're kinda in the dark as to what you should be fully prepared for. First things first, prepare for people to be up late. On an average night at least some group is gaming until 2-3am. There will also be occasional shouting from the LAN room since, well people get excited when they play games. The upstairs of the house is relegated to more tame activites such as chatting and board games. It also shuts down around 1am except for the kitchen so that those who want to sleep "early" can.
Sleeping Stuff:
Sleeping bag, ground pad, pillow, blankets, blindfold and/or earplugs if you think you will need them. There are a couple of couches available and plenty of floor space. It is on a first come first server basis.

You just have to have some respect for the needs of tired nerds.

One of the perks of this event is that you don't have to worry too much about he food. A Continental Style breakfast will be available for those who want it each morning. There will be finger/snack foods served throughout the event. Drinks provided will be soda, a huge punch bowl, and sparkling cider (for the toast). There is no problem with bringing Alchololic beverages (I'll probably have a couple myself) but there won't be any prepped by me for general consumption.
In past years I have tried to plan the menu out on a per day basis but that never seems to be quite what ends up getting eaten on any given day. As such I'm just going to list some of the lunch and dinner meals that will be served throughout the event.
All the money I get is used to help defray the costs of food, utilites, and supplies for this many people. Upon submitting the form you will recieve a copy to both email addresses entered. I will send you a payment request via PayPal. The prices this year are $5.00 for attendance and $9.00 a meal.
